The Arizona is the final resting place for many of the 1,177 crewmen who lost their lives on December 7, 1941, when their ship was bombed by the Japanese. The USS Missouri, another Pearl Harbor survivor, also pays tribute to those lost on December 7th. On its decks, visitors can see the spot where Japan signed its formal surrender, effectively ending World War 2. Afterward, we head out from the harbor for a great view of the city from Punchbowl – the National Cemetery of the Pacific. Then, we head to our final stop in downtown Honolulu to check out the King Kamehameha Statue and other nearby historic buildings including Iolani Palace.
